Fred Thomas - Artist Bio
 Fred hard at work at the Office Photo by William EakinHip Hop, Zines, and skateboard culture are all major influences in the art of Fred Thomas, as were the years he spent studying classical animation at the Vancouver Film School. Fred worked for many years at the Graffiti Gallery, painting murals and working with at-risk youth, and has exhibited as part of The Nine hArt's at Adelaide McDermot Gallery, A'La Planche at the Annex Gallery, at "Seven", his own Solo Exhibition at the Graffiti Gallery, and with the Supernovas at the Winnipeg Art Gallery.
He has received attention from the Globe and Mail, Border Crossings Canadian Art Magazine, and the Winnipeg Free Press.
He does large outdoor, and indoor murals, which some have graced the stage on the television coverage of the National Aboriginal Awards Ceremony, and many outdoor murals are on commercial buildings throughout Winnipeg.
Fred also illustrates and animates Children's French immersion books, does aerosol on canvas, Illustration works, and Custom Tattoos.
Fred was commissioned to go to the 2010 Olympics to paint canvasses "live on stage" to the music of The New Native Music Review band from Manitoba.
 
Most recently Fred was commissioned to design and paint a now completed 200 ft long outdoor mural on a government building in Winnipeg. The painting of the mural was a group effort of Fred and eight other artists from the Graffiti Gallery.
